Torenia is an excellent annual native to tropical Asia that provides steady bloom in a partially sunny or shady area of the garden from early summer until frost. It grows as an upright but compact bush with cool colored bell shaped flowers. In the cold weather, the foliage turns reddish green. The Moon Series of Torenia is much stronger than the other seed varieties, exhibiting a tolerance to heat and sun that other varieties do not. It is also more trailing than the species variety of Torenia. Blue Moon is a series of trailing Torenia which is ideal for hanging baskets and container plantings, in a variety of blue colors which grows large and densely branched, with shiny leaves and delicate cup-shaped flowers.
