This unique cosmos features heavenly pale pastel pink flowers beautifully blushed with deep crimson-rose pink with sunny yellow button eyes or centre flares and dark pink veins. This large 3-inch cosmos looks so delicate floating atop its fern-like bright green foliage. It is early to bloom and continues freely over a long summer period. Plants are compact (about 36 inches or 90 cm), upright and sturdy, perfect for the border and offering very special cut flowers which are brilliant for bouquets.
Cosmos Daydream is one of the best annual wildflowers for mass planting and naturalized landscapes, and Cosmos also looks terrific growing in containers, flower beds, borders, cottage and informal gardens. Easily grown from Cosmos Bipinnatus seeds this dependable annual flower is very adaptable to a wide rage of growing conditions such as average or poor soil, drought, heat and humidity. Cosmos is a wonderful cut flower for fresh or dried bouquets.
Cosmos bipinnatus, commonly called the garden cosmos or Mexican aster, is a medium-sized flowering herbaceous plant native to Mexico. The species and its varieties and cultivars are popular as an ornamental plant in temperate climate gardens. It can also be found in natural areas in much of North America, where it is a garden escape (introduced species) and in some habitats becoming a weed.
Cosmos is one of the best nectar plants for attracting birds, bees and butterflies to the garden and the flowers are perfect for pressing.
