Description
This is the first single-coloured, high-quality, fully double cosmos from seed. Each lively and very long-blooming large spectacular pompon-like rosy-lavender flower stands proudly above sturdy 3 foot (90 cm) stems, opening above the airy, fern-like foliage. They have all the charm of daisies with a more interesting form!
With profuse flowers and frazzled petals in many layers, Rose Bonbon are great for use in vases. Cosmos is a cut-and-come-again bloomer, meaning that the sooner you cut the blooms, the quicker new buds will pop up to replace them! So, you'll still have plenty of color in the garden after you've picked what you wish for indoor use.
The flowers begin in midsummer in most climates and continue right through mid-fall, soaking up the heat and sun in any well-drained garden soil. Cosmos is a fine choice for the vegetable patch, too; a member of the Aster family, it does a good job of repelling "bad bugs" and attracting beneficial insects and wasps to help your veggies grow and bloom their best.
Cosmos bipinnatus, commonly called the garden cosmos or Mexican aster, is a medium-sized flowering herbaceous plant native to Mexico. The species and its varieties and cultivars are popular as an ornamental plant in temperate climate gardens. It can also be found in natural areas in much of North America, where it is a garden escape (introduced species) and in some habitats becoming a weed.
Doubly impressive and doubly seductive, Double Click cosmos will be getting a lot of double takes in your garden! Its mix of single, semi-double and fully double blooms or pompoms of pristine white petals with a yellow eye that will dazzle you! Sturdy plants will grow up to 4 feet tall, and provide a vibrant display all summer long.
