Linaria can be annuals, biennials or herbaceous perennials, with simple leaves and terminal racemes of 2-lipped flowers with conspicuous spurs. Fantasy Series Linaria provides 25% more tiny, 5/8 in./1.5 cm snapdragon-like blooms per stem than regular Linarias. Outstanding as a bedding plant for massed formal beds for parks and public gardens in cool semi shaded areas during the spring and fall. A delicate, fragile cut flower.
Fantasy is a dwarf Linaria series that is quick to flower. It withstands frosts and short duration freezes to 26°F (-4°C). Excellent spring crop for early season color. Especially well-suited for mass plantings. Plants are 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 centimeters) in height.
The Fantasy series is a good solution for growers and retailers wanting to extend their early spring and late fall sales, as it is a fast crop that is able to withstand frosts and light freezes. Underused is an understatement; unfamiliar is a fact. While unique crops didn’t experience high demand years ago, present consumers are looking for different varieties that offer both the color and cool hardiness, and Fantasy delivers with its vast color selection. An added bonus with this variety is its light fragrance.
Available in nine colours: Apricot, Blue, Magenta Rose, Pink with Yellow Eye, Scarlet with Yellow Eye, Speckled Pink, Violet with Yellow Eye, White, White with Yellow Eye, Yellow, Autumn Mix (includes colors "with Yellow Eye"), and Spring Mix. The color palette of the Fantasy series is pretty amazing, not to mention Blue, Magenta Rose and Yellow were all awarded Fleuroselect Quality marks. And with the trend of cool-season gardening, such as in the fall, emerging among consumers, Fantasy offers another seasonal choice with a range of colors that includes spring and fall shades. This series is a great cool-season, spring or late fall crop and can be grown throughout the winter in the South. Fantasy should be grown cool, so watch out for heat, as it cannot tolerate prolonged periods of heat and high humidity.
Season: Annual; Height: 1-2 Feet; Bloom Season: Spring/Summer; Environment: Full Sun/Partial Shade/Dry/Moist; Zones: 3-10 All Regions of North America.
